Job Description

  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with the Homeroom Teacher in order to assist in daily lesson plans.
  • Support individuals or groups of students during lessons as directed by the Homeroom Teacher.
  • Supervising the groups of children in other areas of the school library, hall, etc.
  • Assisting with the supervision of children on trips, swimming, lunch time, playtime, etc.
  • Communicate observations and concerns to the Homeroom Teacher about students, ensuring all such information is kept confidential.
  • Ensure a smooth start and end to the day by being proactive and using initiative to support the Homeroom Teacher and students.
  • Ensure classroom resources are organized and accessible.
  • Support in other classes as requested.
  • Assist the Homeroom Teacher in the positive behavior management of the class.
  • Be available to answer parent questions as appropriate if the Homeroom Teacher is not available and to keep the teacher informed, remembering to use discretion and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

1. Education

  • College Degree or above (Bachelor Degree in Education/Pedagogy or Related Teaching Subject is preferred)
  • English Recognized Certificate

2. Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching assistant experience or related experience in Education
  • Previous experience in international/bilingual/integrated school is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience working with school aged children is preferred

3. Skills & Knowledge

  • Fluent in English
  • Basic understanding of childhood development and steps to support children of various ages
  • Ability to effectively communicate with teachers and parents regarding students’ progess and behavior
  • Ability to manage potentially challenging behavior from students and maintain a professional and patient demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in a second language such as Korean, Chinese, or Japanese is a plus
  • Understanding of other cultures
  • Strong commitment to child protection and safeguarding
